On January 1, 2019 I had two things delivered to my apartment in NYC: Han Dynasty and Shake Shack. I love Shake Shack. I love Shake Shack.

But you know what? It’s not because of the burgers, they are aight. I like a nice medium rare burger that’s why.



My brother ordered some tasty meat from Pat La’Frieda the other day. So while we were planning out the execution of these blended meat patties – I wanted to do it justice. I wanted to do it right.

Dawg, think I’m gonna look up the recipe for Shake Shack sauce. Yas.

Here is the recipe according to Serious Eats, with my tweaks.

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 4 slices kosher dill pickle (my tweak: I used a 6 chopped Malle Cornichons instead, yas)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • Pinch cayenne pepper

Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth, scraping down sides of blender with rubber spatula as necessary. Makes about 3/4 cup sauce.
