By the time I got home yesterday to cook a fabulous dinner and tackle that incredibly large pile of laundry, I realized two things.
- I’m getting sick
- My dryer is not fixable and now I have a pile of wet (but clean) clothes.
I woke up in the morning in cold sweats to a dream about Lady Gaga and I reenacting the ice skating scene of Flashdance. Don’t ask.
I got my ass to the doctor and demanded to be tested for flu and strep. Survey says: Flu.
I’m going to fight it, got my meds, drinking water and mom stopped by with Jewish Penicillin.
I thought for a second I would mess up my 365 days of LOVE and POSITIVITY. Because, what the hell do I have to offer society today? As my mom picked up my wet laundry baskets to take home to dry, and left frozen chicken soup to thaw, she said this to me, “Take care of yourself, sweetheart”. That’s exactly what I plan to do today, this weekend and in 2019.
It reminded me of the great Kit Deluca when she said “take care of you” in Pretty Woman.
